Music, Movies, and Books
Most books and just about anything by Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Tamora Pierce, and Orson Scott Card. I love deep, interesting independent films that make you think, but I'm also always up for fast crazy movies with lots of explosions! I'm into alternative and folk music mostly. The Shins, Cake, Meg Hutchinson, The Cranberries, Ani Difranco, Tori Amos, The Firekites...stuff like that.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had some great opportunities to travel see incredible things around the world. I spent 3 months living in the rainforest of North East Queensland, Australia while taking classes and studying toads. It was one of the best experiences of my life! I got to go SCUBA diving on the Great Barrier Reef! I've also been to New Zealand for two weeks and while there I went bungi jumping and saw an awe-inspiring glow-worm cave. I've also been lucky enough to go to China for a month and study Feng-shui forests there. I don't speak a word of Chinese, but the people were so kind to me! I'll forever have wonderful memories of rural villages in the mountains of southern China. Recently I've been living in Slovenia and studying Dark Septate Endophytes which are a group of fungi which actually live inside higher plants. So ridiculously awesome.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to juggle and tell you a little bit about mycology (the study of mushrooms and fungi). I'd love to learn more about wood-working and anything to do with science.
