About Me

ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Lindsey.
I am 25 and born and raised in the United States.
Two years ago I went to school and lived in Brno, Czech Republic for a semester.
After that semester my brother and I traveled Europe for a month.
Now we are back and ready to travel again.
This time we are staying for two months and want to do and see some of the things we missed before. Like taking advantage of Couchsurfing and meeting all you wonderful people on here, willing to share your homes and your lives with fellow travelers!
This is my third time visiting Europe and I hope some day to find a job and move here.
I am graduated from college with a degree in Business Managament, a degree in Business Administration and a minor in international business.
So this trip is my adventure before deciding what it is I want to do with those degrees and where they will take me!
I love to travel and as I cross one place off of my list of places to see I add another. I think the world has too much to offer and to never try to live and experience it all would be a shame and a waste.

I have a blog that I keep for my travels
Czechinginwithlindsey.blogspot.com

I think music makes the world a better place and nothing beats curling up to watch a movie on a lazy day. I think books can take you to a whole other world without leaving your seat and each day should hold something special. I like to think of the cup half full because you always have it better then someone else.

PHILOSOPHY

A quote I once heard is that "life can only be understood backwards but must be lived forwards." It is important to understand things but more important to accept them and move on. Nothing truly goes away until it teaches us what we need to know but we can not move forward if we are always dwelling on the past. I think that no one should have any regrets in life because they only hold you back. Everything is a learning lesson and there to make you stronger, to learn from and to see things in a new light.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is my first time joining in on couch surfing so I have yet to surf any couches or host any surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have slept on a lot of couches in the last couple of years. For two summers I did not have a place to stay and call my own. The first summer I spend four months moving from couch to couch, staying with my friends and living out of a storage unit. Also one summer I had three months until I moved to Europe so I put my stuff in storage and once again hopped from house to house living on my friends couches. It's a great way to live in the moment and stay connected with people. You know someone truly cares when they offer up their couch as your home for the night.

Interests

I am interested in traveling, painting, drawing, art, crafts, reading, books, learning, cooking, eating, and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Gladiator is my all time favorite movie. Also on the top movie list are 300, Shooter, Ladder 49, V for Vendetta, and Interview with a Vampire.
I love to read and I love to collect books. There is nothing better then finding that book in the clearance section that you have been waiting so long to add to your collection.
I think music is what holds everything together. The only truth is in music and every moment in your life can be expressed in the lyrics of a song. Therefore I enjoy all kinds of music but EDM is my favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This may not be truly amazing but one thing in my life that to me is amazing is when I went parasailing in mexico. How is it amazing? I mean all I did was get strapped to the back of a boat and get pulled around the ocean. But I am extremely afraid of heights. Seriously standing on a dresser to change a light bulb scares me. Climbing the tops of towers and mosques gives me anxiety attacks. So trusting that I could do it and having the courage to do it is to me amazing. The view wasn't half bad either ;)
There are other amazing things done and seen in my life but I think there is amazement, beauty and inspiration in everything around me so it is quite hard to narrow it down.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a native English speaker so if you want to learn English or just want someone to talk to and practice your english with I am here to help! I like to think of myself as a good cook so I am up for spending some time in the kitchen preparing a meal to share.
I would love to learn other languages as well and I feel like couch surfing would be a great way to get to know new people, cultures, and some practical language skills.
