ABOUT ME

I am a fun loving adventurous woman. I love meeting new people and I love to travel. I have been a midwife for 25 years and am now retired and have started to write stories and poetry, and do various art works, painting, sewing and quilting. I have many friends in the world and I learn a great deal from them. I am actually looking out for possible working situations perhaps to take people on tours! or to teach English...I am open to new life. I have two grown sons and 5 grandsons!

PHILOSOPHY

Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. I really try to see life from the other guys perspective and be kind. I try to stay in the head space " that people will always surprise you....pleasantly".

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have always loved curling up and sleeping on the couch...cozy and warm. Most of my adventures in life have involved sleeping on couches.

I love to sail, play music, dance Tango, salsa, and Scotish country dance. I love to walk and bicycle and kayak. I SCUBA and windsurf some. And I love to see exotic places. I am interested in organic food and "slow food" home cooking, I like to vote with my money to create a world that I believe is healthier and more fair...like Fairtrade coffe or chocolate and other goods, ethical consumerism, and eco-tourism . I like adventurous travel and out of the way places and local cultures, intentional communities, sustainable life practices.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Musicals, Pop music, making our own music I like to sing, I play flute and clarinet. I love the cellist Hauser. I like old movies...Haley Mills, Doris Day, Sophia Loren, Danny Kaye, etc. I love documentaries and nature and travel shows.
Reading: I love Agatha Christie, especially Poirot and Miss Marple (the movies too)...and I love the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon about Scotland and Claire and her family.
I love The Durrells in Corfu, book series.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Well two. I spent time in the Wadi Rum desert in the complete silence, under the full moon, sleeping in a Bedouin tent under their cosy warm quilt. I lived in a mountain Indian village in Guatemala for a year, and gave birth to my son there.
