About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Change the world little by little, starting with myself.
ABOUT ME
Christmas 2023: enjoying beautiful Paris with my amazing friend, Wanda.
Wouldn't it be sad if I could just sit down and write a bullet-proof description of who I am? Fortunately, I still have a lot to learn about myself and the world, and it will hopefully all continue changing.
However, in three words I would describe myself as creative, open-minded, and talkative. I love to learn more about the world that I'm living in and to develop as a human being, and I believe that the best way to do this is to meet other people from different cultures with different views of the world.
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy must first of all be to involve yourself in your surroundings, whether it is in national politics, a local sports team, or your family and friends. Don’t go through life being indifferent, participate with what you have! Believe in yourself and the people around you, next you can believe in ideologies or gods.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By bringing the world together in meetings with locals and fellow travelers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted several people from all over the world. It's been so great! I love having the opportunity to show people the parts of Copenhagen that I love. I really love to travel but when this is not possible it's great to meet people from around the world and thereby have the world brought to me. My experiences from surfing have also been wonderful and have shown me parts of the country that I would never have seen by myself.
However, I haven't been hosting for years now and I only rarely surf. Today I mostly use Couchsurfing when I travel to meet locals and fellow travelers. I have some of my best travel experiences from CS events!
Interests
I spend my workdays teaching Danish, English, and social studies to teenagers. When I'm off, you will most likely find me in my kitchen baking or making other kinds of sweet treats. At my sewing machine, making new outfits from vintage patterns. Dancing in the studio or on my floor. Or if it's that time of year; diving head first into paper mache, liquid latex, fake blood, and gory details, when creating my grand Halloween party.
I travel! I can't help myself. When I travel I often go alone, but because I'm a very outgoing person, I prefer to meet other people, both locals and fellow travelers. So I always look up Couchsurfing events and I have some of my best travel experiences from these.
As it is the days of social media, you can find me on Instagram at @heelsandshoestrings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two things come to mind. Many years ago I was in the Cutty Sark Tall Ship Race, and I was so fortunate to have a night shift just by the shores of France. Standing on the deck on a quiet starlit night listening to the sound of the waves was so beautiful that no words can describe it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would really love to learn other languages and in return, I would love to practice being a Danish teacher.
