ABOUT ME

I am a teacher of English translation at university , and I really love my job (in fact, it doesn't feel like a job at all!) I love learning and experiencing new things. That's why I see as much of the world as I can. No routine for me please, I could never survive a 9-5 job in an office. I like a constantly changing horizon. Apart from that, I'm a calm, positive, open-minded person and I love talking and listening to new people.

PHILOSOPHY

If you feel like you can't do something... do it anyway :)
And the best part about life is seeing new things, meeting new people, having new experiences as much as you can!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been surfing a couple of times, and they were all amazing experiences! I would love to host, too, but I guess I'm too much in the middle of nowhere for people to find me :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing but awesomeness! I have met some truly lovely people, interesting to talk to, so friendly and hospitable! It sort of restores your faith in humanity.

Interests

Books! I love to read... a lot!
I also love to sing, especially when no one can hear me :)
I spend a lot of time with our animals, especially going horsebackriding in the woods.
I also love ice cream, kittens, chocolate, hot tea, swimming, my friends, and musicals.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to sing, and I listen to pretty much any kind of music. I especially like musicals and folk music.

Movies... Nothing too scary please :)
I prefer TV series to movies, like Game of Thrones, Sherlock, Community, or costume dramas.

Books! Where to begin? I'll basically read anything that stands still long enough. From shampoo bottles to War and Peace, from Salman Rushdie to my dictionary :). Special favorites include Arundhati Roy, Lolita, Harry Potter, Tolkien, A.S. Byatt, Jonathan Franzen, Jane Austen, George R.R. Martin,...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three months as a volunteer in an orphanage in the Dominican Republic, which was such a special experience.
Apart from that: walking above the clouds in India, and being blessed by a temple elephant. And Cuba, which is just an entirely amazing country. Also hunting for butterflies in the Indonesian jungle.
