About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to learn more about the world through hosting

ABOUT ME

I love learning languages and dancing--anything that allows me to meet people, spark some conversation, and have a good time. Other than working, sleeping, and a little reading, this more than fills the rest of my time.

PHILOSOPHY

Whether it's capturing the beautiful in the shutter of my camera or sharing it with random passersby, seeing the familiar in places I've never been and something new in my hometown, understanding more with fewer words, or dancing all night to trance or tango, traveling is consistently one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a 350 square-foot (32 square-meter) studio apartment on Stanford's campus, and love hosting people from all over the world. I've couchsurfed in Europe and China and am traveling now by bringing the corners of the world back to me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

- a flash mob "dinner en blanc" in a beautiful Berlin square
- a dorm-closing party with tons of international students in Vienna
- unusual foods in Beijing
- exploring San Francisco with my Vienna host
- all the crazy stories I've heard from others stopping by

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The general process of learning more about humanity has been pretty amazing for me. Love for the world and people in general is something that drives me to travel.

The most amazing things I've done or seen haven't necessarily been with couchsurfing, but couchsurfing does seem to provide the highest concentration of memorable experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been told I'm a very insightful and perceptive person, good at listening and understanding things from others' perspectives. Having been to a few corners of the world and found people to be mostly the same but with fascinating cultural differences, I'm up for anything. Follow the moment.
