About Me

I’ve been wandering from place to place for a while now. I love volunteering and helping out where I can. “Tourism” has some seriously negative side effects so I believe it’s important to try and do good works in conjunction.
I’m used to living with people whether it’s a single roommate or larger scale communal living so consider myself pretty well-adapted to most situations!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I left Australia in 2022 and have no real plan to return. I’ve mostly used volunteering as a means to live lightly and on a low budget while seeing beautiful places and meeting awesome people. I think couchsurfing fits into this mode of movement and hopefully allows me to soak up local culture in a sustainable way but still help out where I can

Music, Movies, and Books

I’ve been in some grindcore and powerviolence bands and am generally interested in the more extreme end of punk music. I love anything experimental and boundary-pushing whether it’s from punk, noise, or psychedelic backgrounds.

I like dumb horror movies and enjoy the books of John Zerzan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent seven months helping build a guesthouse in the hills of Georgia by the Black Sea. Seeing the end result of our work has been one of my proudest achievements.

Teach, Learn, Share

Before leaving Australia I was a tutor in mathematics and I’ve also spent around 4 months teaching English in Turkey so naturally I like sharing all knowledge. I have a deep interest in languages and love learning what I can about them in the places I travel. Likewise I enjoy sharing what I can about English (the only language I’m fluent in) and love language exchange.

I like learning about the day to day life in the places I travel to and how local culture is intertwined with this. Please share your local music, customs, and stories with me
I’d be excited to meet any of your pets, especially dogs
