ABOUT ME

I am Linn, some call me a viking, some call me nothing at all. Coming from the cold north really affects you, therefore I have sought shelter a little further south of Norway. However, the Netherlands is not that different from what I am used to, only a 'bit' flatter. As a norwegian, you would think that I am a cold and unsocial person. And that is correct! No, we might have cold blood, but I am a social person. I love to travel and experience new people and new places. I try to travel as much as I can, but it is a bit difficult to combine with a fulltime study! And it is expensive... 'Oh, but you're Norwegian, you can afford it' you might say. BUT I am also a poor student and I don't work in the oil business!

When I travel, I am not looking for luxury, I am looking for the real, the genuine and the authentic. Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to experience real life:)

I still haven't tried couchsurfing yet! I am very excited to meet new people. I really don't know why I didn't sign up earlier!

Interessen

My interests are many and different, I like to do sports and hiking, but I also enjoy to chill and not do anything at all. Being creative is also something which I appreciate, I love drawing, painting, sowing, crocheting... Not knitting so much, I don't really know how to do that.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

My trip to Kenya was one of the most important experiences of my life, it was so shocking to see the differences between the rich and poor, living side by side. I also visited one of the biggest slum areas in Africa, Kibera. I felt like such an idiot, walking there through the streets and just looking at how people lived. I felt so terrible, as if the people there were animals in a zoo. I felt so low, knowing that our lives were so different.

Another experience that has been important to me was moving to Barcelona. I was almost all alone in a new, foreign city, in a new, foreign country, where they spoke a language I did not speak. I learned a lot about my self during this stay, how to stand on my own two feet all alone. I met some awesome people there, true friends for life. In Barcelona one of the most awestrucking moments were when i visited La Sagrada Familia. From the outside it is a strange and mysterious building, but on the inside it is like being in a different world.
