One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
!
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn from the other people . Each person brings a lot of new ideas to me.
Our cultures, habits, mentality, body language, traditions and superstitions can be different. But our daily issues are the same worldwide (having a stable job to enjoy, to find true friends, our safety and safety of our belongings when travelling, understanding the true nature of persons behind their appearance and look, not to fall into tourist traps of restaurants , etc .etc.).
Usually we meet people in our networks (usual working place, classroom course, family and school networks: these are the closed-ended points for socializing most frequently).Outside of these networks, I think that Couchsurfing has introduced a new concept for encouraging travellers to meet locals.
Couchsurfing is a way
for sharing friendly moments and for exchanging ideas together.
When you enter the house of your host, you are likewise entering a new world to discover.
However, it seems some people pretend not to understand the rationale of this Couchsurfing site. These "guests" seem to abuse the meaning of free hospitality:
The purpose is not to get free holiday accomodation , but to discover the local people.
Indeed the person hosting you is not a "hotel" with a 24 hours reception and permanent door opening service . We are not welcoming you after your timeless private parties outside, whereas you have hanged out as a rockstar with other absolute strangers for unforeseen time lenght.
Particularly , I want to say that the following people are really super very nice : Danish ( danskerne) Korean (한국인 ), Zhejiang (浙江人). But I have got plenty very much experience with them and I have learnt enough. So NO need to contact me if you belong to them . I prefer to discover other new worlds.
And finally a last friendly advice:
Couchsurfing is not an "auction" system letting travellers await the next best offer till the eve of their arrival to CS destination.
. If you scheduled precise days for your journeys, try to think that your offering host also needs to plan and organize his/her private life.
Mindful of it, my offer of hospitality is automatically deleted after 1 day if there is no "accepted" input .
What I Can Share with Hosts
ideas about local food, travels in their countries, about different cultural mentalities and behaviours, movies and books and about learning foreign languages.
