About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Saving the world (I know it's cliched but I'm a bit of a bleeding heart)

ABOUT ME

I'm passionate about Environmental issues and in particular Climate Change, so I get involved with as much activism and community work around this as I possibly can. I love music and once upon a time was half-decent at the flute. Now I just pick it up occasionally and pretend that I have skill... I love meeting new people and finding out what makes them tick.

PHILOSOPHY

Be passionate

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm happy to host people because I really support sustainable (and cheap!) ways of travelling. Staying with locals is also the best way to experience an area. When I go travelling, I would also like to hear about life in the areas I visit from the perspectives of people who live there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't surfed yet through this network, but have stayed with a number of people I hadn't met before but made connections with through the Australian Youth Climate Coalition. Everyone has always been really warm and inviting and I've had some interesting conversations and amazing food with these people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots- wide ranging.
Books that teach me new perspectives such as Affluenza by Clive Hamilton and Richard Denniss

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I associate nearly all the most rewarding experiences of my life as having taken place somewhere in the beautiful Australian bush whether that is Wineglass Bay and Freycinet in Tasmania or Fraser Island in Queensland or Byron Bay or the Blue Mountais or my home region near the Namadgi Wilderness area. The list is endless...

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't think this is special knowledge but I believe that the best way to win people over is to be non-invasive and not push your philosophies onto others. I never tell people how to live their lives but because I am so passionate about what I do, people ask about it and when they do, they're more likely to listen to the answer.
