About Me
I'm Linton from Tasmania.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While a hostel can be fun at times there is simply no comparison to seeing a place from a locals perspective. I enjoy the people who welcome the stranger. The ones who travel into unknown places are the spores of our culture and through this sharing of ways we become stronger as a species...
Interests
It usually about music isn't it? It can be as a consumer in front of a huge stage of pretty lights or at a small dive bar or being locked in a room with a sequencer or outside under the sun with a guitar...
I practice a martial art called Aikido.
I love to eat so I love to cook and mostly I love to share the dining experience with people.
With my free time I have been enjoying journaling, listening to music, playing backgammon, hiking, playing music, cooking... eating, always eating.
Music, Movies, and Books
Electronic music like house, psy, bass and techno. Love ambient techno at the moment. Listen to loads of metal so I'll always have a place in my heart for that. Some folk music, some classical.
My favourite movies are Fight Club, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Matrix. The list goes on but if I had to choose 3...
Frank Herbert and Dune, Terry Pratchett's Discworld, Robin Hobb, Neil Gaiman, Lord of the Rings... mostly I read sci fi/fantasy but also enjoy reading about ethno-botany/pharmacology and philosophy.
Got a bit of a soft spot for video games but I never seem to have time to play them anymore. One day though...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Total Solar Eclipse viewed from Oregon, USA.
Aurora Australis viewed from Southern Tasmania.
There are so many more but these two... wow.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you what I know about drums, photography, Aikido, music production.
I would love to learn new recipes!
