About Me

I'm an embracing person, currently studying anthropology, always happy to meet new people and share experiences. For me, travelling is all about connecting with the people I'm visiting - the people who let travellers explore their countries deserve the time it takes to make it a pleasant encounter!
Right now, I take the world in through photographs, and it will hopefully become a way of life, more than it already is.
I believe that curiosity is one of the most important things in life; wanting to know more and always being inquisitive will reward yourself and others;
"The important thing is to not stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence"
-Albert Einstein

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If Stefan Zweig had been alive today I believe he would be a couchsurfer. Why? In The World of Yesterday he makes it clear that the best way to understand a place is through soulful friendships with its best people.
I love the idea of being able to just go to a country and delve right into the culture and life of other people - Couchsurfing allows everyone to connect more easily than ever, and who would want to miss out on that?!
Couchsurfing is about spreading cultural awareness and sharing knowledge and memories while also creating new ones.

Interests

(Street) photography above all - but I also love going into the nature, studying arts and culture, reading books and walking (alot) around cities with my camera in hand, waiting for something interesting to catch my eye. And of course, going to cool places at night and see what happens!
I also love sports, especially football.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classic jazz, but I am very open-minded in general and that applies to music, too - what I listen to totally depends on the mood, but Tom Waits is probably my favourite these days - Pablo de Sarasate and Niccolo Paganini, as well as The Cat Empire are also great. And the Swedish Bo Kaspers Orkester!

My top three in movies looks like this: Midnight in Paris
The Godfather trilogy
And... anything by Pedro Almodovar!

Books and poems by Danish writer Tom Kristensen, most things Roland Barthes and books by George Orwell and Kafka. Photographical works by Andre Kertesz, Josef Koudelka, Richard Kalvar and Henri Cartier-Bresson never fail, either. Also, a traveller's must-read is William Sutcliffe's "Are You Experienced?"
Also, Erlend Loe should be read widely outside Scandinavia.

Oh, and of course Calvin & Hobbes comics!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We all have interesting stories and I think it's better to share these when we meet! I think sharing experiences is a big part of meeting people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you things about photography and tennis! I love walking the streets or trekking through nature while talking and totally forgetting everything else and I'm sure you'll enjoy it too!

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I wrote, I love to share my photographical knowledge and I love to accompany people when exploring new areas, home and abroad. I'm also decent at cooking, so I'm sure we can teach eachother new, interesting food - I'm always ready for something new!
