About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today." - James Dean

ABOUT ME

My biggest passion is travelling, exploring this wonderful planet and meeting amazing people from aroud the world. The best thing about travelling is seeing the world with your own eyes and replacing imagination with experience.

PHILOSOPHY

The traveler was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes 'sight-seeing'. - Daniel J. Boorstin

So that's why i'm a traveler of my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CS is about sharing. So when at home I share my couch and my knowledge about my city. When travelling I share my adventures. But always I share a smile and my happy attitude. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I bumped into CouchSurfing while searching a place to stay in the U.S.
Meanwhile I hosted and surfed many amazing places and it makes me want to travel and meet people all over the world. I not only opened my doors but also my heart for other personalities and give back what I got from CS - all those great experiences and unforgettable moments.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one!?

° Quit my job, reduced my belongings to a 35l backpack and went travelling for a year. And then one year became to be 3,5 years on the road. ;-)

° Saying 'thank you' in more than 20 languages
° Working on a Husky farm in the Arctic
° Hitchhiking the Moscow-Almaty train through the Kazakh desert
° Travelling with no money in Iran - hospitality par excellence!!!
° Doing some Urban Exploration in Abkhazia
° Hitchhiking through Kurdistan in Iraq
° Living with monks in a Shaolin Temple in China for a month, learning Kung Fu, Qi Gong, Chinese and a lot about Buddhism
° Seeing Mt. Everest while hiking in the Himalayas

But the most amazing thing I've done was on a warm summer day a few decades ago when I put my first step on this world.

...because that's where my journey began.
