PHILOSOPHY

"You pass this way but once. There's no such thing as normal. There's you and there's the rest. There's now and there's forever. Do as you damn well please or you could end up being a pot-bellied, hairless boring fart"-Billy Connolly

Music, Movies, and Books

hip-hop punk indie rock-in-roll electronic country twang pop diva melodious gay harmonies...music saves my life like every day. Give me a healthy dose of adult swim, HBO, and comedy central..throw in a dash of sci-fi, a few drag queens, and the newest episode of the Soup, and i will surely remain a fully self-actualized human being.
BTW the last episode of season 5's Breaking Bad has left me in a perpetual state of meth-like teeth grinding (it's what i do when i'm anxious or i see something so adorable i have to subject my teeth to undue mandibular pressure)But for the most part I definitely gravitate towards funny subversive type movies, I love Dr. Strangelove, Office Space. I'm still debating whether Revenge of the Nerds is my favorite movie of all time. Quentin Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorcese, and the Coen Brothers are a few of my favorite directors.
These books have altered my brain waves to unusually high states of consciousness: the denial of death by ernest becker, the autobiography of malcolm x, catfish and mandala by andrew x. pham, all about love by bell hooks, crossing the mangrove by maryse conde, the catcher in the rye, the youngest doll by rosario ferre

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently, while my co-worker and I were driving through central Milwaukee, we were thoroughly entertained by the sight of a middle-aged man exercising on his front porch. He was using one of those elliptical cross country skiing machines that took up most of his entire front porch, dressed in blue jeans, a long sleeve flannel button-down, and white socks with no shoes. His denim legs swished furiously back and forth... It was one of the funniest things I ever saw. I got it on video for like 2 seconds before we turned the corner. you had to be there.
