About Me

I'm an easygoing guy. I'm half-Thai, half-American, which means I'm not really American nor Thai. I like expanding my worldview, especially by traveling and seeing many of the unique ways to live a meaningful life in this world.

In the past, I was briefly a Buddhist monk in a Thai forest monastery. Currently I'm a neuroscience researcher in The Netherlands. I love writing, and my small fame is that I published a short story that won an award. I like cooking Thai food, big breakfasts, and frozen pizza when I'm feeling lazy. If I'm not sober and there's a piano/keyboard around, I will not be able to resist playing it (not particularly well).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Music from the 60s-70s (especially Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel), Radiohead, jazz, trip hop

Movies: Pulp Fiction, Waking Life, Matrix, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Books: Anything by Jack Kerouac and Jorge Luis Borges, Haruki Murakami (especially Kafka on the Shore), The Doors of Perception (Aldous Huxley), Lord of the Rings (can read it over and over again), Carlos Castaneda

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in a Buddhist monastery in a malaria-infested jungle in the far western mountains of Thailand, where I took the monk's vows and wore the ocre robes. Then the fruit ripened and fell, and the tree kept growing.

Teach, Learn, Share

While traveling, you take off your old mask and put on another... there's a fleeting moment that reveals something underneath the mask that we all pretend isn't there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very happy to cook for others, I also teach meditation, and in general I like sharing chill conversation and music
