About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discover the common bond between all us humans all over my country and all over the world

ABOUT ME

I am a curious, thoughtful, sensitive young man who strives to become a citizen of the world. I learn about myself and about the world at every turn and believe that experience is the best teacher. Although I'm mature, the young boy in me will never die! Like the Moroccan explorer Ibn Battuta, I have an insatiable wanderlust -- my desire to explore and know more about the world will never cease.

PHILOSOPHY

My name means "light" in Hebrew, so I strive to live out the meaning of my name by being a light to everyone I know and everyone I meet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to participate in CS as much as possible over the years. At this point I am not in a position to host (moving around every few months, living in small quarters that are not my own), but as soon as that becomes possible, I will host people with open arms! I look forward to meeting people throughout the world and forming friendships with people I'd typically never meet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never Couchsurfed, but I look forward to a long a fruitful Couchsurfing career.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love world music... most of my music library consists of music from outside of the United States; but I also love classic rock and some current music. I've been in to Latino Pop recently :)

Movies: My all-time favorites are The Blues Brothers, Volver, Mar Adentro, Airplane, La Môme, Family Pack, but there are many more I can't think of right now

Books: I'm not much for fiction... some of my favorites are Lord of the Flies (William Golding), Tuesdays with Morrie (Mitch Albom), Reconciliation (Benazir Bhutto), and Maphead (Ken Jennings)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled the United States by car for 1.5 months - 8,400 miles, 20 states, endless experiences

Teach, Learn, Share

I could tell you a thing or two about cars — critiquing or comparing models, commercial aviation, and geography... especially US geography. I could tell you why Vermont used to be Republican but is now Democratic, why the state of West Virginia exists, what North Dakota is like, and where the best places to go are for views of Los Angeles. I could also tell you why Rioplatense Spanish is so different from Mexican Spanish, explain the similarities between Hebrew and Arabic, and talk about why New Orleans is so different from the rest of the country.

I'd love to learn anything about the world — how things are the way the are, and why they are that way.
