About Me

Born and raised in Brasil, I'm a nice guy who loves to live and write about my experiences. I really like to observe everything around me. People's behavior, the culture, architecture, etc. Unsatysfied with the boring office life, I'm lefting it behind and going towards my dream: become a digital nomad. If you want to help me, just offer a couch and a smile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to take some hours of my day to think about my plans, my carrer and things like that. One day, I was doing that and a remembered some history that my uncle told me about a ancestral of mine, that history got me inspired and I wrote a text. That text tells much about myself and my love for traveling. You can read it next:

Would you dare to leave everything behind and embark on a ship to an unknown land? This question came to my mind after hearing the story of one of my ancestors, a young Pernambucano, who lived in the first half of the XIX century. Some say it was by accident that he end here in the south, others speculate that it was an escape from slavery, which makes more sense.

Beyond him, many of my ancestors made their way across the sea. One came from continental Europe, escaping World War I, and others came from Açores, hoping for a better life in the "New World." A new world already inhabited by millions, even before this "Discovery". And, of course, the DNA of many of those millions of natives runs through my blood. As a good Brazilian, I am the product of several ethnic mixes and I am proud of that. However, I don't want divert from the central subject of this text, from that initial question.

I've had the courage to cross the Atlantic once, but I question that courage a little. Because, when I did it, I knew that I would soon return to the comfort of my home. I wouldn't have to work. I would just study, enjoy and get to know new lands. Today I question my courage when I read the stories of true adventurers, such as Thoreau and Kerouac. So when I think about them, I wonder if I could do the same.

I see my parents planning their futures in places miles away from any city. I see my work starting to really support me, without physically holding me in any company. I see fewer and fewer reasons to stay here, stuck to the stifling security of my hometown.

Don't get me wrong, I love Garopaba. This will always be my home, my safe place. But right now, my feet are restless. My eyes wants news. My lung yearns for new airs. Each molecule in my body feels the need to leave. It's only a matter of time. Soon it will be my turn to embark on a ship for another chapter of the story of my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During the college, I had a dream: to make my own Rap song. So I talked to a friend who is a DJ and he gave me some instrumentals. Them I asked the guy who manages the college studio if I could record the vocals and he let me do it. Them I mixed (without any knowlege) and dropped it on the internet. After that, I rapped in 2 events and that was some of the best experiences in my life.
