I have a calm and quiet personality. Though I do enjoy solitude in the woods, I also like to make friends and enjoy funny talks or deep conversation. Try to be kind to all forms of being.

I love nature and indigenous culture. To me, nature is the source of life and indigenous culture is our ancestral wisdom of how to live in harmony with nature. My current mission is to explore the indigenous knowledges in Taiwan and around the world, incorporate into my life and share with the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet people who share the same interests with me but from different background and culture. For me, Couchsurfing is a place to make friends, learn from them, and share happy memories. It's a place to aggregate kindness.

Interests

Exploring the relation between human and nature, which I think is the essence of indigenous culture, is my passion, which I started here in Taiwan, my homeland. Taiwan is said to be the origin of Austronesian peoples, and there are now officially 16 tribal groups in Taiwan, each having its distinct culture and language that also share some similarities. Since 16c., they have been much influenced by Chinese immigrants, Dutch and Japanese colony, many displaced from their ancestral land and deprived of their culture. Working with the tribal people, learning their history and way of living is one of my greatest passion.

Taiwan is an island with a 70%+ coverage of mountainous area, and 260+ peaks of 3000m+ high. Thus, the forest in Taiwan is very rich in terms of diversity and quantity. I enjoy pretty much trekking and living in the mountains.
