About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Juggling family life and sanity :-)
We have a three year old daughter and 1 year old son, who are a lot of fun
ABOUT US
We are open-minded and enjoy meeting new people. For the last six years, we lived in the Czech Republic and have recently moved to Paderborn, Germany.
I'm outgoing and love to travel. I grew up in a little cottage in the forest, so I hope to return to living in the nature again.
I come from an International family with lot's of guests in the house, so I enjoy the hustle and the exchange of stories.
I feel that these days people boast with how much they have to do. For me, having a lot of time on my hands is a luxury. To escape, I love riding horses :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far my couch attracted people even without the couchsurfing community.
It's great to really meet people and get to know their country - rather than staying in hotels. When traveling with children, you need to be flexible anyways, so couch-surfing with kids is an adventure.
Interests
I grew up riding Western and any day I climb into the saddle is a good one. You learn a lot about yourself on the back of a horse.
Foreign languages are a huge part of my life and work. At home we speak German, English and Czech. And I would love to have an opportunity to speak more Spanish... when I teach, I like to focus on intercultural communication - it's far more than correct grammar and words and it fascinates me. :-)
I read whenever I find time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I thought about this long. and tried to narrow it down ;-)
Having a child and moving to a new country sounded challenging at first, but both proved to be rather easy - so I am not sure what qualifies as amazing.
Recently, the first time I went diving was breathtaking.
While training horses in New Mexico one summer, I get to help on the set of a movie production for three weeks. That was awesome.
I surprised myself by travelling to Chile on my own when I was 18. It was amazing. However, you really appreciate travelling with a partner after having been on your own.
Teach, Learn, Share
As we don't travel as much anymore, we enjoy sharing stories and welcoming people into our home.
