Overview
About Me
I am very talkative and love meeting new people, especially if they are from a different culture than me. I am French, but for the moment I am living in Lisbon with my boyfriend (he is from New-Zealand: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/simon-arthur-2). We live in the center of the city and have a couch that we would be happy to share with travelers. We would also like to meet new people by staying with them when we go traveling around Portugal!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Two years ago I did a 3 month and a half road trip across Latin America and I used Couchsurfing a lot. It has been an amazing experience and I met a lot of people that are still my friends now! That's the reason why I want to host people now and live the experience from the other side.
Interests
I love literature, especially the French one (I am really into Simone de Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre, Marcel Proust for instance), but I discovered Gabriel Garcia Marquez when I lived in Costa Rica and fell in love with him - unfortunately he died a few months later. I also discovered Mario Vargas Llosa when I was living in Peru and enjoyed it a lot. Now that I am living in Portugal I would like to read Portuguese literature, so any suggestion would be most welcome!
Apart from that I've been playing theatre since I'm 6 and I really enjoy it. My favorite way of playing theatre? Improvisation!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like classical music - my two faves are Camille Saint-Saens and Antonin Dvorak, but, as a wannabe Latin-american I listen to reggaeton, salsa and bachata music. I have discovered Fado in Portugal and think it is really beautiful, and recently I have been listening to a lot of Bossa Nova.
In movies, though I am not an expert at all, I really like Tim Burton, and my favorite movie is Big Fish.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I managed to have a driver's licence, and god knows I had no talent.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I'd be able to teach you: Spanish, and all the different ways of saying gross things depending on the country. Good sentences to hit on French girls/guys. A few steps of salsa dancing.
What I want to learn: Portuguese! And pretty much all you can teach me about the Portuguese culture, history and traditions. I also want to learn how to dance Samba.
What we could share: All of the above, and much more about our cultures, likes and dislikes. Cooking too, it's always a lot of fun to cook with friends.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't know much about Lisbon yet, but my boyfriend and I can share our few tips with you.
During the week, we are mostly working during the day, but at night we can walk around the city, cook nice food etc. During the weekend we are often away to travel (and hopefully being hosted and meeting many people), but when we are not we are very happy to host you and do many things with you (go to visit Lisbon and around, go to the beach, and pretty much whatever you manage to convince us to do ;) ).
