About Me

I'm a fun loving adventurer with an itch to see the world. I'm currently living the dream by working on my masters of World Heritage Studies in Cottbus, Germany. While I'm in this part of the world, I plan to see as much of it as I can!

As a guest, I always leave things in better condition than when I left. I like to travel with friends who are also respectful. When I travel, I am usually gone all day on grand adventures! Lodging is generally just a holding space for my belongings and a comfy place to sleep at night. I'm not a big partier anymore, so you don't have to worry about me trashing the place. Sometimes I like to split a bottle of wine with good company, and I'm 420 friendly.

My life motto actually comes from the movie Masters of the Universe: "Live the Journey, for every destination is but a doorway to another." I intend to live my life as much like an adventure as possible. Even going to the grocery store can become an adventure with me around.

Five things I can't live without:
1. Water, it's my favorite
2. Food (like authentic, locally owned and produced...REAL food)
3. Good company
4. My cat
5. Chocolate

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see the world, and unfortunately my budget just doesn't allow for fancy hotel rooms. I also don't want to just be a tourist. I want to connect with real people and learn about their way of life. Couchsurfing seems to be a great place to have it all!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite books: I've always loved to read, and when I do find the time these days, I prefer fantasy and/or vampires. Favorites include the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin, the Xanth series by Piers Anthony, the Belgariad and Mallorean by David Eddings, Harry Potter, and pretty much anything by Anne Rice.

Favorite movies: I love historical/historical fiction type movies and pretty much anything fantasy/sci fi. I haven't been keeping up with new movies for the past several years unless it was part of series I knew was coming out, like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Favorites include Robin Hood: Prince of Theives, Legend, Masters of the Universe, Stardust, Howl's Moving Castle, V for Vendetta, Equilibrium, Maleficent, and Star Wars, among many others.

Favorite shows: Xena: Warrior Princess shaped my outlook on life. Other favorites include Gentleman Jack, Charmed, Supernatural, Fruits Basket, The L Word, The Tudors, Game of Thrones, Once Upon a Time, Dexter, Castle, How I Met Your Mother, Grey's Anatomy, Family Guy, That 70's Show, The Nanny, and Law and Order: SVU.

Favorite music: I have a very wide and eclectic range of music love that includes pretty much anything except for rap and country. I especially like "flowy" otherworldly sounding music and music in different languages. I'm currently on a "witchy" music kick. Favorites include Eivør, Dead Can Dance, The Beatles, Shpongle, Rammstein, Celine Dion, Enya, Pink Floyd, and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, among countless others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught a room full of 150+ people an exercise about wake up in Los Angeles. I get a huge rush from being onstage, and I also love being able to share what I know.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach English. I also teach a partnered meditation practice and can share insights on personal growth based on my experiences through that practice. I also teach people how to follow their desires. I learn things all the time! I'm currently learning about cultures that are very different from my own.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A chill, laid back, calming vibe and a sense of wonder and adventure at the world. I also give the best hugs in the world.
