ABOUT ME

My name is Lisa and currently my profile is going to be used for my friend Chrissy and I as we are going to be travelling together.

The past year there has been massive change from all aspects of my life and I am just trying to figure out exactly who I am. I have always believed that everything happens for a reason and we are meant to be exactly where we are at every moment. I don't believe in coincidences I believe in fate.

I'm a person who wears my heart on my sleeve and what you see is what you get. I believe life is a gift and every moment should be cherished and lived to the fullest. My biggest passion in life is without a doubt is people. People fascinate me. You will never have walked the same path as someone else and therefore that means that each and every person can teach you something. Connection is extremely important to me and that's why I love meeting new people. I am a social butterfly to say the least. My other greatest passion is travelling, the world is a beautiful place and I want to see it all even if that seems slightly outrageous. There's so many beautiful places to encounter and cultures to explore and there is no greater way to learn in my opinion then to experience the world at your finger tips and first hand.

I believe fully and completely that we create what we think about and that's why I try to be as positive as possible at every given moment. I've had a few too many experiences in my life to teach me that things can change in a heartbeat and you'll never see it coming and its taught me a lot. Life is short and meant to be lived and enjoyed. You never know what can happen so living in the moment is extremely important to me. I'm spontaneous, very open minded and I love to laugh, the greatest days to me are the ones where I laugh so much it hurts.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had a previous account with my ex boyfriend and the two of us hosted a few amazing people over the past three years. We broke up about a year ago and I decided to not use my old account and have just created my own new account.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I first started couch surfing I was in Australia on a working holiday visa about five years ago. To be perfectly honest I didn't really believe in the concept of couch surfing, it seemed so strange to me. However through couch surfing I have made some of the greatest friends in the world. Towards the end of my two year journey in Australia I ended up getting into a very awful life changing car accident and thanks to couch surfing I was taken care of. Some of the first people I met through couch surfing at the beginning of my trip to Oz took care of me two years later when I was completely broken, could barley walk and had no use of my arm. I had travelled nearly the whole country except for South Australia which is where I had been air flown to have emergency surgery to try and save my arm. I had barley any money, was in a different country broken and lost and my friends through couch surfing came to my side and took me in and took care of me until I was well enough to return to Canada. Four months later they came and stayed with me in Canada for a couple weeks and we had the time of our lives. Some of the greatest experiences in my life have been through couchsurfing I believe in it with all my heart. I have not done a tonne of couchsurfing but the little bit I have has changed my life.

Intereses

The two of us love to travel more then anything, it is by far our greatest passion. We both love the tranquility that yoga brings us. I love to meditate on a daily basis it is something that is vastly important to me. Music is extremely important to me and if its at all possible to see it live Im there. Dance is as well something that just makes me happy and forget the world around me.

Built houses in Tijuana where the people changed my beliefs forever. One woman whom we were building a house for had literally nothing. She had one pot of rice to last her and her family for the next two weeks and she cooked it for our building crew of 16 people because she was so eternally grateful. She had nothing and yet she shared everything and for most of us we have so much and don't even realise it and yet we share nothing. We come into this world empty handed and that's how we leave all we can take with us are our memories our experiences of the lives we changed.

Everything happens for a reason and I believe couch surfing completely puts that into perspective. People who believe in couchsurfing are far more open minded then most and because of that the experiences you can have through it are un real. Go into couchsurfing with an open heart and an open mind and the things that will come from it will forever alter your path in the most beautiful way.
