About Me

Cat fanatic and photographer, green tea drinker, poetry writer, nature lover, dreamer, introvert, explorer, believer in the kindness of strangers.

I love meeting new and interesting people with different stories to tell.
I have an endless fascination with the human condition and the ways of the universe.
I'm an avid theatre fan and it's one of my greatest passions!
The beautiful variety in different cultures and people fascinates me and I am always ready to learn.
I grew up in the US, so my first language is English. I learned Russian when I was older.
I'm a vegetarian who is an aspiring vegan (some day...).
I care about the environment and human rights, especially supporting women and LGBTQ+.
I have just spent 2 years at UWC in Armenia and am currently on a gap year exploring theatre and the world. (woohoo!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is a perfect opportunity to connect with people and experience the warmth of sharing. It allows me to explore the world on a more human level, which I love. I support this idea because it provides a way to bypass the capitalist nature of society to always pay for everything. Why do that when we could all connect and help each other out?

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love Edward Scissorhands, Hanna, In the Mood for Love, and The Matrix.
I have a broad music taste which changes depending on my mood- I love exchanging tastes with others and am open to most things! Amanda Palmer, Muse, Tool, Fever Ray, Aurora, The Cure, The Smiths, Bonobo, Christine and the Queens, CHON.
It's hard to choose favorite books, but I like Orlando by Virginia Woolf, Oranges by Jeannette Winterson, and The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir (although admittedly I haven't read all of it yet). I greatly enjoy reading and writing poetry, so of course Edgar Allan Poe is on the list. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have organised a creative arts camp in Georgia for Caucasian youth in order to allow them to share their cultures and talents, regardless of political divides. I led the theatre group!

Countries I’ve Lived In

Armenia, Russian Federation, United States
