About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Walking on a dream

ABOUT ME

I am French, zerefore I spik like zat, I eat cheese and drink wine while making fun of ze English, ze Americans and ze Germans... :-)
On a more serious note, I consider myself very open-minded and curious, which is of course why I love travelling.
I spent a few years abroad to study/work (Germany, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand).
I've been living in London since May 2012 and I work there in sports sponsorship.
What defines me as a French person is first of all my fine palate of course, I just love food I can't help it! I also complain a lot, like my fellow countrymen, but I still manage to enjoy life and try to live it to the fullest!

PHILOSOPHY

A few sentences that inspire me :
James Dean once said 'Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today'.
Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
There are no strangers in life, only friends you haven't met.
I try to make the most of what life has to offer, but I also have the brain the size of a planet, or so I've been told, so I spend a lof of time thinking!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I spread the word about Couch Surfing wherever I go! I try to open people's minds as much as mine by sharing travel and life experiences!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed for the first time in February 2011 in NZ. I went for 2 days to the Bay of Islands to make my childhood dream come true which was to swim with dolphins! I stayed in a great big house in the forest with amazing views on the islands. My host and his flatmates were great fun! And I did swim with dolphins! A crazy intense 2-day trip just before my birthday! Unforgettable and for sure a great first CS experience.
Then I surfed in the South Island of NZ in Picton and Queenstown!
Also I made friends for life thanks to the weekly CS drinks in Auckland.
After coming back to France I got to travel a little bit around Europe, and I surfed in Spain and Poland.
CS is always a great experience, you get to know random people in random places and it gives you such unforgettable memories! I love it!

Music, Movies, and Books

So many, too many to list them here!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping in a brand new Mercedes on a car park in Fort William, Scotland, and being woken up at 3am by a helicopter landing 10 metres away from us.
Sleeping out in the open in a swag in the middle of Uluru National Park, Australia.
Setting off from Auckland, NZ, at 3am to drive 450 kms for 6 hours to Cape Reinga and driving back straight after.
Coming across the Baywatch set on Santa Monica, USA, and getting a picture with The Hoff!
Watching 76-year-old Leonard Cohen pull off an amazing 3h30 concert in Auckland, NZ.
Watching a supermoon rise over the Pacific alone on a long white-sand beach on Great Barrier Island, NZ.
Travelling across the South Island of NZ by bus, boat, train, car, plane and hitchhiking!!
Attending the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Sports challenges: I ran the London Marathon in 2014 and raised money for a charity (Laureus Sport); I did a charity bike ride in the Maasailand in Kenya after raising money for a charity (COCO); I ran the Paris marathon in 2017; I completed my first Olympic triathlon in July 2018 in Paris, it was so much fun (more than marathon running!!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can definitely teach people French, English and German language basics, although I'm not a very patient teacher :-)
I can tell you about my home country which I love even if I don't live there.
I am not a professional cook but I think I am quite good at cooking so I could teach you a few recipes.
I can finally teach you how to execute the dancer's pose in yoga!
I also know all the cities which have hosted the modern Olympic Games since 1896...
I wanna learn so much, so anything you have to say or show will do! I love foreign languages and am always keen on learning a few basic words when I go to a new country. I want you to share with me your vision on life and your travel experiences!
