I am a 54 year old wife and mother from rural Pa. After my husband and I raised our children I went back to school to become a CST and currently work part time for a plastic surgeon. My interests are varied but I really enjoy the outdoors. We have always had some sort of livestock throughout the years, raised alot of our own food, hunt, fish, hike and travel when we are able. Currently we have 3 horses (one being a foal that was just born the end of May), a dog, rabbit, 2 guinea pigs , 2 pet rats (my daughter's idea-not mine) and a partridge in a pear tree. (ok so maybe not the partridge-and not the pear tree either although we do have apple and peach trees). I am a social person enjoying meeting people but I also like solitary time. I like to get away from the beaten path and soak up nature. So on my up and coming trip I plan to take a lot of back roads but will also visit a few cities along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be taking an 11 week motorcycle trip around the country this summer. My son and his wife have couchsurfed on their travels and have also hosted. I thought it would be really cool to meet the local people on my travels and be able to learn about their region! Unfortunately since I don't know where I will be at the end of each day, most of my requests will be more or less made around 3-4 in the afternoon of the day I will need to stay. But in those instances I don't expect to be entertained-just need a piece of floor on which to sleep! Thank you all in advance and can't hardly wait to get out there and meet you all!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide variety of music- from Bach to Breaking Benjamin. I don't care for the rap music or jazz (although I do like some blues). My reading material mostly consists of magazines/articles that pertain to furthering my education for work. As for movies I generally watch Disney (pixar in particular), Dreamworks, comedies, action and occasionally nature documentaries. I don't care for sci-fi or horror movies.

Well the one really amazing thing I've done is marry my best friend! And that lead to 7 more amazing things I've done: kids (we have 7).
