I’m Lisa, 25 and I have Ukrainian family roots, but I was born and grew up in Münster, Germany. Where I live with my boyfriend Nick.

After 5 years, I finally have the opportunity to travel around my absolute favorite country, New Zealand. The first time, at the age of 20, I did a working holiday there. This time, I am exploring the country with Nick. We both recently graduated from university and have taken two months to first travel around New Zealand and then trek the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. We've rented a camping van to see as much of the country as possible and visit my friends, some of whom I met through Couchsurfing.
Even though we have a camping van, it's great to connect with locals, and well, sometimes it's not easy to find a spot at a campsite too. That's why we decided to integrate Couchsurfing into our journey.

We both love to travel and stay active through sports, which is something that connects us. We engage in activities such as diving, triathlons, rowing, dancing, mountaineering, and many other sports together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an awesome way to connect with locals and learn more about the country you're visiting. Meeting new people is one of the main reasons why I travel. I think everyone has an interesting story to tell! Traveling can be costly, so couchsurfing is a great way to help each other by providing free accommodation.

MUSIC
I mostly listen to positive music. So far, the compositions by Ludovico Einaudi and Ed Sheeran‘s songs have accompanied me the most.

FILMS
I absolutely adore David Attenborough's films!
The Hobbit’s and Harry Potter are my favourites too.

BOOKS
I thoroughly enjoy reading "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. My favourite quote from this book is: „It is only with the heart that one can see clearly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.“

PODCAST
Most of the time, studying is enough reading for me :D , and when I have free time, I really enjoy listening to podcasts usually about hikes und travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling by myself around New Zealand at the age of 20 and meeting all these wonderful people. I still keep in touch with many of them. Oh, I love it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking with my surfers or hosts because we can share traditional dishes and learn about each other's culture. Trying new foods from different countries is one of the reasons why I love to travel.
