About Me
My name is Lisa, I'm a medical student from Freiburg, Germany. Medicine is a really tough subject that leaves not much space for other things to do besides. That's why I want to get off for a little while starting on the end of September, travelling in Canada, Cuba and Hawaii for some months.
I grew up in a small village near of Cologne in Germany and now I am living in Freiburg, a pretty student's city in the blackforest. ( you know the cuckoo clock, don't you? ;) )
I love to play and listen to music, especially making music together with some friends. I also play drama and work in a cinema, so I am really into the culture stuff.
I have just been on an organic farm in Canada for a few weeks, where I really loved it. I milked the cow, made butter, harvested and cut firewood. There I got in touch with a sustainable lifestyle, which is very attractive to me and I want to carry it on in Germany as well. So, if you got some cows to milk or firewood to cut, here I am!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
What I love about travelling is the possibility to get to know different cultures and especially the people. I don't want to live in my own touristic bubble, just being carried from from sightseeing spot to another. That's why I love the idea of couchsurfing, where you have real contact with people from that place. Also the other way around I'd love to show people my town and my region, if they want to see Germany. I think that's the best way to travel!
Music, Movies, and Books
I am a cineastic person, I love the smell of popcorn, the comfy chairs, the dim lights in the cinema. That's why I am working there. The best movies I have come around the last months have been Victoria, Birdman, Boyhood, Mommy and many more.
I love so many bands and musicians, it's hard to shorten them. I would say I can listen to all types of music. Maybe no heavy metal, but who knows..?
I also love the oldies, like Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Queen, Beach boys...
Unfortunately it's the same with books. ;) Just some authors and poets I really like: Markus Zusak, Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Rainer Maria Rilke, Mascha Kaleko
