About Me

Meditative and pensive, curious, persistent, adventurous, easly satisfied, vegan, always up for learning something new, straightforward, unsophisticated, interested, enthustiatic for philosophy and literature, sustained, environmentally friendly, sporty, nature loving, sometimes living in my own world, very attracted by instrumental music, sometimes boring, ...
I have many different sides and sometimes it's even hard for me to identify myself. What i can definetely say: I'm Lisa, preferentially called Lee, a girl from Austria, who currently tries to figure out my place in the world. Since I'm devoted by philosophy and literature I started to study these subjects and luckily I'm still easily impressionable by many writers and philosophers like Fromm, Harari, Kant, Beauvoir, Sartre, Freud, ..
More than two years ago I started to rearrange my life by doing more and more things just on my own, started to write almost every day in my little black book my own philosophy about the world, short stories and even poems, discoverd my love for doing yoga, progressed from being vegetarian to being vegan, learned that even negative incidents can bring something enlarging and favorable, got even more interested in every kind of art and experienced the positive side of openness by meeting oodles awesome people from all over the world. It started with a three month stay in Dublin, continued by living in a shared flat with almost 15 different people and ended up by being addicted to jump in at the deep end of unknown situations with unknown people :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I actively started using CS two years ago on a trip to Norway and Iceland with my sister, who introduced this plattform to me. I love her anyway, but this makes her even more loveable ;) We made so many nice experiences and met many many beautiful people out there, that I'm now pretty sure, CS is one of the best communities worldwide. Even though every trip to an unknown place is interesting and widening on itself, with combining this adventures by meeting people, sharing your life with the life of others for a short period and learning from each other, makes the exploration even more precious. CS has nothing to do with getting a place to sleep for free, or to travel with as little money as possible - in my opinion, it's about getting to know the world a bit better step by step, getting to know your own personality better with every person you meet and spreading trust, love, unity and cohesion.. it's about sharing, giving and unfolding yourself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Almost everything what's not commercial..

I do feel a deep love to alternative and indie music, jazz, rock, electronic, classical music, oldies and even Austropop, when I'm in the right mood:
Beirut, Mumford and sons, Friska Viljor, Jose Gonzales, Schmids Puls, Bilderbuch, Ólafur Arnalds, Ludovico Einaudi, Erik Satie, Iron and Wine, The Sea The Sea, Elderbrook, Annenmaykantereit, Fil Bo Riva, Meute, Dunkelbunt, Queen Leer, The Beatles, The Black Keys, The XX, Farewell Dear Ghost, Florence and the Machine, James Blake, Feist, Wanda, Arcade Fire, Crystal Fighters, Tash Sultana, Hang Massive, Alicia Edelweiss, Stu Larsen, Sigur Rós, alt-J, Leyya, Saint Chameleon, Cari Cari, Buntspecht, Lola Marsh, Ásgeir, Fleet Foxes, Ezra Furman, HVOB, Bon Iver, Adam Barnes, Pink Floyed, Jake Bugg, Cosmo Sheldrake, Granada, Tall Tall Trees, Aurora, Agnes Obel, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Devendra Banhart, Tirzah, Soap and Skin, 5khd, Napaea, Syml, Steaming Satellites,....

I'm immediately attracted by books, which are philosophical at least in a certain way or which are profound. I'm pretty bad with names and titles, but some of my favourites: Die Mandarins von Paris (Beauvoir), Hippie (Coelho), Sofies Welt (Gaarder), Kunst des Lebens und Kunst des Liebens (Fromm), Eine kurze Geschichte der Menschheit (Harari), ....

And my favourite movies are definetely french ones and independent movies: Blue is the warmest colour, Captain fantastic, Mommy, Die beste aller Welten, Call me by your name, ... and a bit stupid, a also do like thrillers like Lethal Weapon, James Bond, Die Hard, Armageddon, The day after tomorrow,...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many many many...

Hitchhiking and camping in norway and iceland, nude bathing with a bunch of strangers, Erasmus in Ireland, sleeping in an attic , glacier hiking, stop laughing within 1,5 hours, coming home after a few month and getting the best selfmade dinner made by my mother and look into her blissfully happy eyes, reaching the top of several mountains, perceiving that being alone can be something really beautiful and joyful, eating my first summer rolls, being part of a concert and playing the flute as a member in a proper band for one night, getting more and more focused in accomplishing my first hand stand, teaching german in spain, learned german in ireland, making (hopefully) lifelong friends within a couple of hours, growing beyond my own limits several times, ...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Everything as long as it doesn't become over gripping :)
Whenever I open myself to other people, they usually can have everything from me (of course it's meant in a non sexual way)! Conversations, time, recommendations, drinks, food, just killing the time, strolling around, discovering something new, .... whatever. I do like sharing whenever and whatever I can!
