About Me

I'm rather quiet and introverted, but also love to party - preferably at interesting and slightly scetchy places, no fancy dresscodes.
I have my own opinions and those can be quite unusual at times, I'm open for discussing them though!
I prefer listening over talking and what I like most about traveling is to get a glimpse of how other people's universes work, how they see and experience this world that we're in and what is going on in their heads. It frustrates me every time that we can't just connect our brains and actually experience another person. Might sound a bit creepy, but I'm sure it will be possible one day and I hope to still be alive by then.
I’m pretty open minded and respectful and I can get fascinated by basically anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classical music (mostly the one from central europe but I'm trying to get to know some from other parts of the world) and I've played the cello for 15 years. My favorite at the moment is Dvořák, but the cello concerto by Edward Elgar played by Jaqueline du Pre is something hard to beat.
My next favorite genre is metal, growls and blastbeats. I love Heaven Shall Burn, Rammstein, For I am King and Jinjer and moshpits at live concerts are something I live for (I absolutely don't look like it, but it's my way of dealing with aggression, so I can be gentle and sweet the rest of the time ;) ).
When it comes to literature I'd read almost anything from the label of a can of tomatoes to scientific books about neuroscience. I prefer books that either evoke strong feelings in me and absorb me fully into their world (i.e. Kafka, anything with dragons) or that teach me something interesting like how emotions work or how to reduce my carbon footprint.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Mexico I spent some time in the mountains of Michoacán.
Each year there is something called the 'butterfly migration', millions of monarch butterflies gathering in the forest, migrating all the way from Canada for the winter. To stand inside of a cloud of thousands of butterflies, hearing their wings flutter, almost sounding like rain, and seeing the trees around me completely covered in their bodies was pretty amazing.

I've also bungeejumped from 148 m which was one of the best feelings ever. Pure joy and freedom.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play basic cello, guitar or piano or, if you're better at playing than me, I'd love to learn from you about it.

Same goes for Spanish and English, and of course German!

If you've got any interesting skills to share or things that you're passionate about, I'd love to learn something about it (neither fishing nor hunting though, I hate killing so much I became a vegan when I was 14 and haven't changed my mind about that yet).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversations, listening to your worries and hopes, vegan cookies and maybe a beer or two.
