ABOUT ME

I am originally from Minnesota, lived in Arizona for about 5 years and have been living on Maui, Hawaii since 2011, and earning a Master of Arts degree through Prescott College's fantastic independent, mentored research program.

I am a singer/songwriter working with sound healing. I play flute, guitar, piano, and keyboards. Music is the most fascinating and powerful thing in the universe to me, but I have many other interests, skills and hobbies as well. My income comes from freelance writing.

I always enjoy meeting interesting, conscious, and fun people of any kind, sharing stories and knowledge, ideas and theories, food and drink, and whatever else happens to be inspiring in the moment!

Although I adore living on Maui, I travel frequently because I value exploring new places, making new friends, visiting old ones, and fully experiencing the adventure that is life :D

I'm so glad I joined couchsurfing.org. I doubt there's a better, more authentic way to travel, and I have met some really fun, inspirational people!

My music taste is so varied, it would be impossible to list or choose. I love all genres and styles. I do prefer music with lyrics to be positive, somewhat intelligent, and mostly non-violent. (Hey, I can get into some Megadeth or Meshuggah from time to time!)

Movies-anything inspiring, passionate, or creative. Latest greats:new Star Wars, Everest, Hunger Games, Stephen Colbert's "Hungry for Power Games segment" ;), etc... I hate the breaks between Game of Thrones seasons, LMAO at Key and Peele and Amy Schumer, and still watch reruns of Friends when I'm working out at the gym.

I'm a voracious reader and researcher, so everything from Ani Patel's nonfiction Music, Language and the Brain to historical fiction novels like Follow the River, or a guilty pleasure YA or Danielle Steel novel by the pool just for fun. Hey, it's like sitcom TV, but in a book! I also love comedy/bios, like Chelsea Handler's Hello, Vodka-It's Me, Chelsea...hilarious and so honest!!

Skydiving was the most adrenaline-inducing activity I've undertaken yet, a natural high unlike any other! However, the view from the top of Haleakala Crater on Maui is absolutely amazing...like another planet

I enjoy mutual conversations about spirituality, music, literature, philosophy, cultures, science, art, adventures, comedy, whatever. I'm open for discussion on any subject, really. I have a lot of interests and enjoy sharing and learning new things.
I will play music for you, cook for you, and bring a nice bottle of wine or a good craft brew...whatever is your preference ;)
I am developing a pretty good working knowledge of frequencies and how they affect us all, consciously or unconsciously, as well as integral life practice and spiral dynamics. "If you want to understand the secrets of the universe, look at energy, frequency and vibration." (Tesla)
My father is an inventor working with free-energy devices, so I was raised on physics and metaphysical lectures and I have also added the research of modern neuroscience and somatic psychology into the mix of mathematical sciences, music and therapies that make up my current work.
