About Me

CURRENT MISSION

journey to the center of my soul

ABOUT ME

Hello! I am Lisa. I am a petite Asian lass traveling the world in search of... everything! I love to be surprised.

PHILOSOPHY

I take my joy pretty seriously. I search for the deepest resonance of myself and others. I try to feel and think as clearly, deeply and honestly as possible. I perpetually seek to cultivate gratitude and generosity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a couch-seeker currently, and when I settle in a place I would love to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have crashed on many-a-couch since I graduated college in 2005, and for the past year have been bouncing around pretty consistently. A few of my now-dearest friends have been from surfing on a couch or hosting.

Interests

Theatre, folk music, any music, new and exciting food, vegetarian food, psychospiritual topics and literature, Jungian psychology, different political ideologies. I'm interested in how the body and mind integrate and connect.

Music, Movies, and Books

I haven't been seeing a lot of movies lately but I can get into any genre. Documentaries! Music, a lot of folk lately. I love Nina Simone, Frightened Rabbit, The National, Jim Croce, and have lately been into Laura Marling, Sigur Ros, This Is The Kit, oh gosh whatever. It's across the board. I love Hemingway and Murakami... my most recently consumed books are Slaughterhouse 5, Wild, The Red Tent, The Celestine Prophecy, The Art of Loving.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This has been an amazing year! I went to Japan for a month, and ate and ate and sat in their amazing hot baths and saw the Most Terrific and Terrifying Kabuki theatre. I walked 600 miles in 41 days across Spain on a pilgrimage. I spent 2 months living communally and making puppet theatre with Bread and Puppet Theater. I've driven across the US and poked my head into Canada. It has been an amazing year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can lead you in a classical yoga sequence and also cook you something, hopefully delicious. I love to talk about theatre and personal development. I'm interested in native cultures and rituals, and can talk a little about those but would love to learn more.
