About Me
Current mission:
Enjoying the sunny side of life - which is easy, it never seems to rain over my head!
About me:
I am 24 years old and currently studying ‚Peace and Conflict Studies‘. As my study course is a joint programme between Germany and England, I studied in Canterbury for one year. Now, I just started the final year of my studies in Marburg. It is a really pretty city and I am excited to be here.
I finished school in May 2011 and decided to go a year abroad. I was travelling in New Zealand for nine months. On my way back, I stopped in Taiwan, which has been a great experience, too! After that I spent two years in Kleve studying ‚International Relations‘ before going to the US to study at Ferris State University in Michigan for one term. Afterwards, I had the chance to do an internship for ten weeks in New York and afterwards for five months in Benin, West Africa. I really learned a lot during my time abroad and I love to meet new people and to face new challenges.
Marburg has much to offer in terms of entertainment and student life. Besides, many of the old buildings and houses are still standing, so you can have a beautiful stroll around the city. The only problem is that it is a bit hilly. You can also enjoy the beautiful country side and go for a hike or a bike ride.
Philosophy:
Happiness is nothing but an inner attitude.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet new people. Travelers always seem to be like-minded and I enjoyed the company of every traveller I met on couchsurfing so far.
Interests
Travelling and meeting new people, but also meeting my old friends and family. Besides, I love sports. When I was in school, I did gymnastics for several years. Now, during university, I am playing rugby, which is so much fun!
I enjoy a good book and sometimes I paint, although I am not very talented. Music is always good, as well as dancing. Besides, I am currently trying to learn Arabic. It is fun but also a big challenge.

Music, Movies, and Books
That is hard to tell. I love lots of different things and it always depends on my mood, especially when it comes to music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are so many amazing things that I was able to experience.
One of the best experiences was my internship in New York City. During this time, I lived in Staten Island. After work, I always had to take the ferry home. Driving past the Statue of Liberty and seeing the skyline in the dark every day surely was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. It demonstrated each day how grateful I should be and the memory serves as a great reminder of the good luck I have had in my life so far.
