About Me

Hey!

I am quite new to Couchsurfing, it is something that I always wanted to try and now here I am :)

I grew up in Heilbronn in the south of Germany, and used to live in Mannheim for some time. After working for six years I finally decided to make some changes and quit. Since then I am travelling, I started in India and Nepal, followed by Japan and South Korea. After Vietnam and Malaysia I spent a few months in Indonesia.
Now I´m heading down to New Zealand for work, with a quick stop in Australia (Adelaide and Melbourne).

I am quite open and easy to get along with, and I take care of the places I am staying at and clean up after me. Looking forward to meet new friends from all over the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a perfect way to connect to friends from around the world, and I like to get to know new people and experience different cultures. When I visit a new country, I am not only interested in seeing some sights, but also to meet locals and to get to know them a bit better. It is quite interesting to me how people live around the earth and which cultural values they share, how their daily life looks like and what is important to them. I am always happy if I can also share some of my culture, e.g. by cooking some local swabian food or tell some stories about my life.

In addition, I think that couchsurfing can be helpful when learning a foreign language. I also had some tandem partners in Germany with whom I practiced Spanish, and it was always a lot of fun to meet with them and have conversations. I started learning Hindi and Indonesian now and hope to find some people which help me to improve my skills, and in exchange I would be happy to teach you some German.

Looking forward to meet you! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like series a lot, enjoy watching Netflix from time to time and also documentaries, e.g. Dark Tourist.

And in terms of music I´m quite open to everything, but live music is always the best :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing on top of a tempel in Bagan (Myanmar) at night, in order to watch the sunset (You can see the view on my profile picture :-D)

Teach, Learn, Share

I´d like to improve my language skills, and get to know my host´s culture a bit better. It would be awesome if my host could show me his or her home town.
But basically I am quite open to the Couchsurfing experience, surprise me :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

In exchange I´d like to share some of my German culture - this can be some traditional swabian food (it is delicious, I promise) or by helping you to improve your language skills.
