About Me

Hi people reading my profile, my name is Lisa (obviously but I kinda felt the need to state that again)

I haven't been that active on couchsurfing in recent years because whenever I went on holiday now, I ended up living in that country for a little while (Portugal and the Netherlands). But I made some really, really good friends through couchsurfing (hosting, surfing, meet ups etc) and would like to use it again for my travels in the summer.

The rest of my profile was written five years ago, but most of it still holds true eventhough it makes me cringe a little (yey self-development).

I like going by train, I like looking out of the window while listening to music because that makes me feel like a film star. It also enables me to pretend that I could get up at any station and start a new life. I like sunny days because as cliche as it sounds seeing the sun always makes me feel better.
I like the smell of the sea, books and freshly baked biscuits like about any other person on earth. I like writing references for others although it always makes it sound as if I'm in love with the person I am writing a reference for.
I don't like the smell of grass because that leads to me sneezing several times and that makes my nose all red and horrible.

PHILOSOPHY

"I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art - write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can."
-Neil Gaiman

So far I have mainly enjoyed my life as much as I can. I am very aware that I am incredibly blessed for all the nice opportunities and privileges.

I'm also always up for hanging out with people if I'm in Berlin or when on holiday somewhere else.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading and I love finding a book that I become hooked on. Then I just stay in bed reading for an entire day/night and become slightly obsessed. Some of my favourite authors are John Irving and Nick Hornby.

Music:
Mainly in the indie/alternative category and HOUSE! deep-house, electronic music all that good stuff!

Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club, The Whitest Boy Alive, Erlend Oœye, Stars, Fm Belfast, The Wombats, The Kooks, Empire of the Sun, Angus and Julia Stone, Warpaint, Frittenbude, Egotronic, Arctic Monkeys, Bonaparte, Bo Burnham, Phoenix, The Rifles, The Postal Service, The xx, Metronomy, Digitalism, SlagsmÃ¥lsklubben, Friska Viljor, Matt and Kim, Cro, Totally enormous extinct dinosaurs, The Killers, Passion Pit...

For going out, I obviously enjoy electronic music/techno/house, deep house etc. At the moment particularly, Henrik Schwarz, Noze, Dixon and Bondax.

Films: Little Miss Sunshine, The King's Speech, 500 days of summer, an Education, Her!...

I watch quite a lot of tv series (more than I should probably but there is some great stuff out there, hah):
Peep show, the inbetweeners, fresh meat, game of thrones, flight of the conchords, new girl, friends, sherlock, doctor who, orphan black, dates...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lots of things. To hard to choose. I will tell you about it in person.

Hm.. I've slept on a beach in Italy, on Sardinia, to be more precise, right next to the harbour because we had to take the ferry the next morning and even though I woke up every hour because you could hear the ferries hoot all the time, and the mosquitoes were awful, it was also extremely beautiful!

Update: I've now been to Brazil on my own, but I was never really on my own, and it was amazing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Wales
