About Me

I am a graduating senior in Pennsylvania State University studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I am a well-seasoned traveler. Every single year since 2004, I have traveled outside the borders of the United States.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel the world but see it through a native’s perspective. It might be because real life and work has yet taken a toll on me but I do not enjoy just lying on the beach and sipping a Mai Tai. I want to explore the streets, and do things that only a native would know. I want to see a city as it is meant to be seen.

Interests

I am a Jack of All Trades. I have a lot of interests, but I love Googling. I can waste so much time just Googling and reading new information on Wikipedia. Generally I enjoy cooking and crafting. Currently, I am attempting to perfect my cheesecake recipe and master the art of cast iron cooking. Also, I have taught myself how to juggle! I am not a pro but I can successfully juggle for more than 30 seconds.

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE music! I do in fact know all the songs on the Top Billiard list; 70s - Now. So I can and will jam out to all the songs on the radio with you. So don’t mind my walrus tone-deaf vocals next to your angelic voice…It’ll be a nice contrast. But if you don’t like the Supremes…we might have a problem, because Diana Ross is my idol. I saw her live in 2014, and I was so star stuck!

My favorite movie of all time is Forrest Gump. I really enjoy historical films, so I also really enjoyed watching The Help and The King’s Speech. I usually enjoy every film I watch, well except the most recent Adam Sandler’s films.

Along with historical films, I also like reading historical fictional novels. I believe due to my desire to learn more about my Asian heritage I have read a lot of Asian historical fictional novels: Joy Luck Club, Shanghai Girls, and Sunflower and the Secret Fan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering with Elephants in Thailand.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a plethora of random mostly useless ( but sometimes regarded as interesting) information. I am a huge nerd and as a science camp counselor I have a list of fun household science tricks.
I am a jack-of-all-trades, but a master of none. So I can show one the basic techniques of
Knitting
Crocheting
Kayaking
Face Painting
Baking
Cooking
Make-up
Sewing
Tennis
Guitar
Most arts and crafts
