About Me

Read my profile before sending a couch request. If you can't be bothered reading my profile, I can't be bothered hosting you :)

CURRENT MISSION

En estos días busco gente suramericana, específicamente peruana - por eso, si eres peruano/a, te hosteo con entusiasmo! :D tengo planes grandes para Peru :)))

ABOUT ME

I geek out on verbs and syntax and all things linguistic. I love tea and coffee equally (and a lot). Get me outside please, I stay inside too much.

I'm not entirely sure if I can get along with those who are jaded, or those who aren't willing to share.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm trying to find the balance between cultural understanding, political correctness and being myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got into Couchsurfing for the first time in Switzerland, hosted a bit in NZ and then in China, and most recently I spent two months surfing around Europe. I really can't believe just how many amazingly selfless, good, and entertaining people I met. After a year long hiatus in Russia, I can finally host again! Provided I'm in the city, and that my partner Misha and I don't have other plans :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So when I went couch surfing with Alyssa (USA) down to Luzern to get in with the locals and celebrate Fasnacht, it really was the best weekend of my Swiss life. We threw confetti in the parades, danced along to Guggen music and generally had a blast with Dirk as our tour guide and host. Then in the morning we made the boys pancakes, and that made their day, so all in all it was a brilliant exchange and I'd do it again anyday!

Music, Movies, and Books

100 years of solitude (Marquez will be missed by all), Time Traveler's Wife, GoT, Harry Potter, The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles (a kids book by Julie Andrews), Disney, Minions, Roald Dahl, most things Nicole Kidman, Avengers. Etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the Colosseum. While I was growing up, I would always get books out of the library about Ancient Egypt and Rome etc. My disappointment was colossal when looking at the picture of what the Colosseum would have looked like and my mum told me, you know, the Ancient Romans don't exist anymore, and the Colosseum doesn't look like that. Well, 15 years later, I went to Rome, and the Colosseum was more amazing than I could have imagined. Even better than in Asterix and Obelix.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Spanish, Mandarin, English and how to bake. I do also make an exceptionally good lasagna.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Russian dolls and chocolate! And a big smile so long as I haven't -just- gotten off a flight...even then, it's probably still half a mile wide :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, New Zealand, Russian Federation, Spain, Switzerland
