About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Intensifying the inner peace I gained on my travels, trying to pass it on to other people (if CS asks for a mission I take the liberty to sound a bit lofty :P ) Actually there is no "one mission" Life gives us different tasks all the time or not? :)
update 5 years later: still the same + encourage people to be concsious of their natural and social environment

ABOUT ME

In a nutshell: I love sports, being in nature, communicating, writing, reading, camping, hiking, swimming (especially in cold lakes), appreciating - and whatever I do: I like it more if I can do it in the sun (no matter how many degrees)
I´m told to be ambitious, open-minded, complicated and straightforward

Long version:
When I started with Couchsurfing I wrote something about happiness at this point. Now I´m not sure wheater this term represents always what I aim at. But today - and then as well - I enjoy the simple nature and it's fascinating peace and variety. I like company, I love exchanging and sharing all kind of stuff, I love spreading love :P and stilll curiosity is in my nature and I always try to find out the reason for everything.
After my A-levels I took a year of (volunteering year) and worked with mentally ill people, but I always planned to travel before I start at university and so I made my way to New Zealand.
The country and the people enchanted me more than I would have ever expected and after enjoying many unbelievable experiences I continued another 6 months of traveling (+working) in Australia. Overseas I fell in love with backpacking, hiking and camping so I continued this form of being in nature when I came back to Europe. Apparently I had to travel to travel the other end of the world to appreciate our mountains here but now I do so and I enjoy hardly anything as much as being with my tent away from civilization.
Apart from travelling I study psychology in the amazing city Freiburg in Germany and I´m looking forwad to be done with it by summer 2019.
And apart from studying I´m dealing with different ideas around the huge topic sustainibility. I don´t want to bother you with details here :P

PHILOSOPHY

It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters! (it´s attributed to Epictetus)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm afraid I started Couchsurfing not until I went to New Zealand. When I arrived in this amazing country I had to experience that you meet more Germans there than in Germany- at least in the hostels. As I wanted essentially experience ANOTHER culture than the German one I wrote my first request immediately after my arrival. So for I always had a great time when I stayed with other people I didn´t know before. It´s an amazing opportunity to travel aside the touristic trip (for surfers), to enjoy a bit of the travel spirit though being caught in every-day-life (for hosts) and to exchange ideas, support and experiences (for both!). I love it. As I fell in love with camping I hardly use the webside these days. But I´ll offer my couch as soon as my housing conditions allow it -promised!
