Welcome!
Tamas and I have just moved to the Floral District of Santa Ana. We would be happy to meet up with locals and visitors in the Orange County area.
I was raised in Orange County, but have also lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Thailand, and Hungary. My life has been very adventurous, but I'm looking to settle down now and find a bit of a routine here... at least for awhile! I enjoy house gatherings, cooking, neighborhood strolls, local trails, game nights, small pubs, and various things.
Tamas is native Hungarian, and is new to the USA. He is amazingly handy, having renovated our previous flat almost solo and is busy doing improvements on our new one. Tamas loves to cook, in fact he has taken over my kitchen so that I no longer have to. He enjoys almost all kinds of outings, cultural events, shopping, working, and more.
______
As a guest, I can offer services such as: cooking (for large fun dinner parties or just you), cleaning, socializing, social organizing, smiling, listening, pet sitting or anything else that should get done in the moment :) We are self sufficient and self reliant individual, and shall not ask much of you other than your genuine positive presence.
HOW TO WRITE A REQUEST....
Hosts in major cities receive a lot of requests. Everyone is different but my recommendations on how to improve your experience is as follows:
1. Use the proper Couchsurfing request format rather than emailing by inbox.
2. Address your potential host by his/her name rather than just saying"Hi".
2. Say something personal and specific as to why you want to stay with that host... for example because of similar hobbies or experiences.
3. Read the description to see how long they are willing to host, and when.
4. It is nice to share what you can contribute to the experience, such as if you would like to cook or share a meal, enjoy an event or walk together. Even if it's just about a conversation that you'd like to have together.
5. Have a full and interesting profile loaded with information and photos so the host knows who is coming into their home.
6. If you are mainly interested in sightseeing and sticking to your own agenda, you may consider a hotel or hostel.
Thanks. Message me if you need further assistance.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been surfing couches and hosting travelers since 2001. I have organized many local meetups and events while living in Orange County CA, San Francisco CA, Portland OR, and Budapest, Hungary. I have attended many events around the world as well. And yet Couchsurfing is just a tiny part of my life :)
I haven't been very active the past couple of years, but it comes with the tide.
