Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in couchsurfing because I want to get to know new people and I am interested in the stories and adventures they might have experienced during their travels. In addition I enjoy being a host and introduce people to Groningen or help them out if necessary. I really like the idea of simply sharing ones place with others, it's a nice and sustainable concept!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Morocco, train from Casablanca to Marrakech. A loveley old Moroccon lady was entertaining the whole train with her jokes and stories. I was the only visible westener and on top of that an independent looking female. So one thing led to another and she tried to fix me up with one of her nephews, since I did not wear a wedding ring and was, hence, still available. After I politely declined the offer she kept on telling me stories about her life as a young woman and that she also declined many marriage offers, so I reminded her of herself. She was the sweetest grandma ever (besides my own ;)).
