Sobre mí

My name is Lisette Gamboa. I was born in Lima, Peru and I have lived mostly all my life there. Besides the typical "family travels" (which are awesome) that I have done while I was a child, my first experience by myself was when I was 15 years old to study at a high school in Bretagne, France. This was a life-changing moment because I realised then that I was meant to be here to travel, to wonder myself, to question my own reality, to know more people and to inmerse myself into new lifestyles and cultures.

Meanwhile, since I was a child, my interests were always history, society and to understand human beings. After my life-changing experience in France, and also because of the country that I have grown, with so much complexity, culture and social diversity, and social conflicts, I decided that I wanted to study Cultural and Social Anthropology and I have not regret (yet) of that decision, as I am about to end my barchelor degree. When I start studying in the university, I realised how much I liked the academic enviroment, to learn everything I can, to be curious and to share knowledge . I have participated in some researches and I have also hosted academic events since then.

One of the main reasons that explains why I started to travel by myself quite often, was because of my long distance relationship, that makes me and my boyfriend travelers across the world without puting ourselves limitations. Also since I was in my mother's womb, I have done many road trips across Peru. Each travel made me realised how much I liked to be in a bus, in a train, in a ferry or in a plane, waiting to discover new things. I am sure that I will not stop traveling across the world and to question myself about everything.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I think there are plenty! But I can mention some :)

1. Artic swimming in Norway in the middle of the Winter. (You can guess that it was way below 0).
2. Getting down from a steep mountain in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest in the middle of a heavy rain while I was at fieldwork for my university. Trust me, it was really, really hard.
3. Getting to Cusco from the capital of Peru (Lima) in a car with all their tires flatted in a family road trip. Normaly a trip from Lima to Cusco it can take you more than 24 hours, so you can guess how much it took my family and me to get to Cusco...
4. Roadtrip from Peru to Chile in 24 hours without resting or stoping AT ALL.
5. Having a long distance (and time) relationship with the most amazing man that I've known in my life (besides my father and brother). We have been together for 3 years and a half while he was living in the US and the Finland, and me living in Peru. Futhermore, we dated (in a long distance way too) for 4 years when we were teenagers and then got back together. So it makes a total of almost 8 years more less. (Quite a long story, we can tell you about it if you host me :D)
6. I don't know if I have "done" this, but I had the chance to see the Nothern Lights in Lapland, Finland.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

TEACH? I do not think I "owe" any type of "true" knowledge, but what I can offer you is to share many experiences that I have had.

SHARE? A LOT! If you are in a middle of a investigation I can advise you with the methodology and structure of it. If you are a Social Science or Humanities student, we can exchange some literature, authors or sources. We can exchange also music, movies and series! And of course, if you are interested, I can talk you about my career, my travels and my country.

LEARN? EVERYTHING! I am OPEN to learn and talk about ANY topic. If you tell me more about the local history and society of the place that you are living, I will be really thankful. I am also open to hear about your personal story.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
