Overview
About Me
I'm pretty laid back and I love to be outside, preferably walking up a very steep mountain or riding my bike. I love music and going to shows (I'm lucky to live in Seattle). I love board games like Settlers of Cataan. I'm a high school social studies teacher and my husband is a science teacher. We love outdoor adventures.
"A steady, wind-driven rain composes music for the psyche. It not only nurtures and renews, it consecrates and sanctifies. It whispers in secret languages about the primordial essence of things."
-Tom Robbins

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In late 2009 I was fortunate enough to go to Mérida, Spain with some fellow auxiliares in my program. We were hosted by a kind person who showed us his town, let us play his drums, and let us crash in his loft. He also took us to a spine-chilling flamenco concert in a pueblo an hour away, an unforgettable experience. I want to meet more people like him and I want to be that person to someone else, offering whatever insight I can, sharing a meal, sharing knowledge, etc. I probably would not have had that experience had I stayed in a hostel with three other people from the states.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've been really into lo-fi, garage, psychedelic, and dirty-sounding rock these days.
I like classic films and really weird movies (big fan of David Lynch).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Lived in Culiacán, Mexico for two months across the street from an amazing botanical garden.
-Climbed to Camp Muir in Mt. Rainier in Washington state.
-Traveled from Forks, Washington to Columbus, Ohio during a cold November in a 1959 Ford shortbus that kept breaking down.
-Walked 110 km from Oviedo to Santiago on the Camino.
-Rode my bike from north of Seattle, Washington to Portland, Oregon in 6 days.
-Biked 700 miles (1127 km) from Eugene, OR to San Francisco, CA...slept under the redwoods in Northern California.
-Trekked to Annapurna Base Camp (Himalayas, Nepal)
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak Spanish. I could talk about music for hours. I can share about Pacific Northwest history and some of what grows here. I want to learn more about the flora and fauna of the places I travel..
