About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Cross-continental adventures!
ABOUT ME
I am about to embark on my first extended travel journey, beginning in Vietnam and ending (hopefully) in London. I have been teaching and living in Korea for the past two years in order to save money for this adventure! I'm very easy going and love to try new and exotic foods, learn about and experience different cultures firsthand, and am not afraid of language barriers.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in caring for what we've been given. Whether it's your body or the earth, take care of it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I've hosted two lovely guests and showed them around this Korean city and shared my experiences of life in Korea.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had the pleasure of hosting twice but I have not yet "surfed" another's couch. Looking forward to the experience, though!
Interests
I love singing and have been a member of many award-winning choir groups. I also enjoy photography and recently purchased a DSLR (much to the horror of my college photography professor). I love to cook and although I am not a vegan or vegetarian, I like to experiment with meat substitutes in my cooking. My favorite experimental recipe was cashew lasagna. I like learning new languages and have studied Spanish, Italian and Korean. I also enjoy a good film or book discussion. Recently I tried skiing for the first time (I don't think ski school at age 7 counts) and loved it so I'm looking forward to more chances to ski.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Just recently I finished "The Secret History," and have been working my way through the Fire and Ice books (Game of Thrones on HBO is based on this series).
My taste in films and music is very broad, I'll watch or listen to almost anything once.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made a house out of mud, straw and clay. It was a beautiful thing.Last February, I went kayaking in Maui and saw a baby humpback whale splashing around in the sea!SCUBA diving in Thailand helped me overcome one of my biggest fears and was the experience of a lifetime! Definitely the highlight of my two week-long trip.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share knowledge about my first language, English. I know a bit about nutrition and cooking, so I can also share that information. I can also give advice about living and working abroad, as I have done so successfully over the past two years.
