About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to make the world my home.

ABOUT ME

I'm like a bike. I need to keep moving in the same way that to avoid falling down and crashing and hitting your head on the cement you need to keep pedaling. I want to spend my life sailing around the world, completely off the grid and without any clocks or calendars, with my dearest friends and my orange cat. I want to make the whole world my home, dismantle any borders I have created or have accepted the creation of, both within myself and within the world around me. I look for the magic in things, the sparkle of adventure, and the glimpse of mischief. I live my life with disregard to the rules and systems that I don't believe in like capitalism, consumerism, hierarchy, patriarchy, globalization, authority. I live with the hope to make the world a brighter place. I seek whimsical moments and to discover the small and lovely fleeting things in the world that go unnoticed.

PHILOSOPHY

"the quickest path to yourself is around the world"

In traveling I hope to experience the world through new cultures, new outlooks, new languages (be they spoken languages or music or art or simply different physical gestures because language is really just a way to communicate and express and what is art/music/dance/etc besides that?) and become more enriched by it, to create for myself a medley of cultural lenses onto the world, to experience the lives of others and incorporate them into my own, to always be learning in unconventional ways, to form loving friendships and relationships globally, to expand my abilities and knowledge, to experience community and resistance as defined and enacted by others with different cultural backgrounds, to be provoked in thought in ways that I could not be anywhere else, but most importantly, to use my skills and experience to travel the world and make a difference as best as I can globally. I want to beautify the world, destroy what is horrid and ugly and build from the rubble a better world because the world that we want to see can be the world we do see.

I think the world works in circles and things regenerate and recycle. I think home is wherever you find love- be it a building or a city or a friend or a feeling or a tree in a park that has a perfect branch to sit and read on or a love letter. I think home can travel with you or be located within yourself or be a thing you return to after a long journey. Some people leave home and come back to it, others carry it on their backs. I think I am the type to carry it on my back. I don't think you should regret what you've done but what you haven't done. don't let your fear of what happens when you act stop you from acting. live for the moment. be in tune with yourself. resist the oppression of a world you find ugly. open up. love. eat veggies. make yourself happy and do what is right for you but keep others in consideration. let your existence be your art form. be.

Music, Movies, and Books

The most meaningful films, books, and albums are those that are handed to you by someone who says "I really want you to read/listen to/watch this. I loved it and it really touched me and, knowing you, I think you'll love it just as much. And when you're done with it, give it to someone you think will really love it too."

Some of those books are Off the Map, The Gift, Walden, Doris, Love and Free, A People's History of the United States, and too many more to even begin listing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

living in union squat,

a hallway full of bicycles
a toilet full of flowers
bottles full of piss
a place full of love..

also being homeless. every place we set foot was our hallway, every bench we slept on our beds, constantly leaving home, seeking home, and being home simultaneously. we carried around a gnome, whom we set down in every place we settled as if to say that the whole city was our front lawn and we were simply sitting on the deck chairs of a sidewalk, talking to passersby.

so much more to come!

Teach, Learn, Share

Mostly I just do what I like even if I'm not good at it (like painting and playing guitar and baking) because it makes me happy. I just like to converse with people and share histories, memories and experiences and just grow from each other as people. I want to pass on to you what I've learned and grown from and I want to learn and grow from what you've been passed on.

I guess could teach people how to sew, swim, fence (swordfighting!), climb things, tie knots, sail, dumpster dive, bike related things, cooking curries, crocheting, hitching, find safe places to sleep at night (squats), bake amazing pumpkin muffins, and probably some other things that I know how to do. I guess I'd want to learn any and every language that people speak, anything about new places, people, or cultures, cooking and baking in new ways, new musical instruments, trainhopping, GARDENING and FARMING, how to silk screen, carpentry, permaculture, and any general skills that are necessary for the lifestyle I lead.

I'm sure we'll find new and exciting things to share too.
