Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I do not have a couch available but I tell many friends about the beauty of Couch surfing. I am available to meet up and explore the lovely city of San Francisco with you. I know traveling alone can sometimes be a drag.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was in Brussels, Belgium. My friend Erika & I were traveling to Amsterdam for a few days and like other college students, we were trying to spend as little money as possible. A few days before we left she told me about couch surfing and that she found someone in Brussels who had a couch big enough for two people. I think I should have been more cautious but for some reason sleeping on a complete strangers couch in a foreign country sounded ok. So we went to Brussels and Stellah picked us up from the train station. We only stayed one night with her but we had more fun thatnI have had had in a long time. I don't think our experience could have been any better than it was. Stellah was amazing and now I am in love with the concept of couch surfing!!

I have also couchsurfed in Italy and Sweden!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was homeless for a day and a half in Barcelona. I intended to sleep on the beach for the night but it was raining. My next plan was the train station but they kicked us out @ 1am and we had to sleep outside. But that's not the fun part. I made friends with a Honduran maid on the way home from working in Spain. My Spanish is not what it used to be but some how we ended up communicating and learning about one another all night. I even taught her some Swedish!
