About Me
ABOUT ME
I usually go to bed between 9-10pm, wake up 5-6am and start my day with meditation followed by walking in the neighborhood while listening to a Dharma talk or audio book. I get many requests, so if you give less than a week's notice your request will likely be declined.
Normal outside, eccentric inside. Seeker of truth, love and beauty. Growing, loving, creating, experimenting, experiencing, connecting. Independent thinker. Reverent and irreverent. Insatiably curious and forever learning. Love human creativity and humor.
Sharing experiences and connecting deeply with others is enriching and fulfilling and is the most worthy aspect of my life. Growing up I lived in OR, MA, CA, CT, MN and CO.
My one bedroom flat is half way between San Francisco and San Jose and down the street from Stanford University and Palo Alto, birthplace of Silicon Valley. Clean and organized with food, wine and beer on hand.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is short. Work hard, play harder. Kidding.
"Strictly speaking, there are no enlightened people, there is only enlightened activity." ~ Shunryu Suzuki
"To be enlightened is to be intimate with all things." ~ Dogen
They say the human realm is the best, yet having a human mind and body demands responsibility and tremendous courage. At times we experience love, beauty and joy or pain, sorrow and confusion. Above all, life is a gift for living fully, loving well and letting go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Looking forward to meeting dynamic, intentioned people, having memorable experiences and making life long frienships.
Please:
1. No shoes indoors
2. Dry shower doors (tile doesn't show dirt) with blue towel in shower after showering
3. Be prepared to teach me how to make at least one meal from your home country
Interests
I'm greedily curious, but if I had to narrow it down...physical and mental wellness, spirituality, learning, new experiences, sports, male/female relationships, humanity, healthful food, sex, business, equities, all things small, expensive coffee, cheap wine, beauty, design and love.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books and music are my drugs of choice. Movies in moderation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bolivia - climbing Parinacota and Huayna Potosi.
Feeling perfect stillness, contentment, no judgment or sense of self for about 20 seconds. I knew it was real when a slightly astonished child asked "Mom, did you see that man?!"
Teach, Learn, Share
It's possible we check our phones regularly or perhaps compulsively for temporary symptom relief from the pervasive, low level underlying dis-ease we feel in our lives hoping to connect with another for a deeper sense of aliveness.
