I live with my partner in Melbourne. We're both culture junkies: books, film, music, art, theatre, whatever. We've travelled many places separately and together, and hope to continue doing that! The next adventure will be the Edinburgh Book Festival and volunteering in the Scottish Highlands and around Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed in Paris on a very memorable European trip in 2008. I also showed a couple of people around my home town of Coffs Harbour when I still lived there. I haven't used couchsurfing for a while!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My highlight so far is a French dinner party hosted by Florine, Nicolas and Pierre. I tried Ratatoille and Escargot. There were Swedish and Taiwanese guests also. The conversation flew in different languages, the wine was delicious and cheap, we had candlelight... Gorgeous.

But seriously, being in New York just after Hurricane Sandy and during the US election was pretty intense.

But nothing much tops the Scottish Highland tour I went on with my partner. Such heart-swelling scenery! We fell madly in love with the place.

And hanging out with all my relatives in Norway was also amazing.
