About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Don't take more than you need

ABOUT ME

I currently live in DC with my babe-mazing girlfriend Natalie. I also travel regularly to francophone africa for work.

In August 2011, my girlfriend and I finished a 5 month trip starting in Barcelona and ending in Istanbul.

Before that I was in the Peace Corps with Senegal. Three years working and living there doing agriculture, project management and constant cultural adventure!

Before that I went to UC Berkeley- Go Bears!

Now I work for company that does International Development in healthcare throughout the world. I support programs in West Africa. I travel there from time to time.

About myself, I'm interested in everything. I love to meet travelers and hear about their stories from home, their travels and about their families.

I'm an adventurous eater. Little fear of taste- only fear of after effects. Plus being introduced to new types of cooking is awesome.

PHILOSOPHY

"Don't take more than you need."

"Stay up late, get up early, watch the sunrise and nap in the afternoon. Drink expresso as needed."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was hosted by about 20+ folks during our Europe trip. Now that we have our own place, we look forward to hosting more people.

We can't always host, we love to meet up with people for coffee or a drink if possible.

CS groups meetings are awesome. I used to be active in the Dakar, Senegal group. Been to several meetings throughout Europe (usually all involve drinking). The DC groups seems like a fun bunch of people too

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS is awesome because of the people. You learn so much and meet people that you would never meet in a hostel or hotel.

With CS, I feel like a traveler, not a tourist.

One of the neatest organizations/groups I've ever been a part of.

Interests

Dance, cooking and local cuisine. Also I like to see concerts with local musicians and different venues. I like to dance too- especially salsa and etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoyed recently reading 'East of Eden' by John Steinbeck. Also a fan of Vonnegut and Robert Steinbeck. John Irving is also awesome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Peace Corps all the way... skydiving too.

Teach, Learn, Share

Gardening, farming and agriculture. I can help you in your garden. Show you how to deal with pest problems or teach you how to set up a permagarden or a biointensive garden. Or I can show you how to graft fruit trees, etc.

I'm getting interested in computer science and programming. Ir someone can teach me a little bit of javascript, C or Python I would be interested.
