Overview
About Me
I am a newly qualified EFL teacher, bored of the rat race in the UK, searching for a more fulfilling life in this rich and vibrant world. I am determined, enthusiastic and conscientious and am keen to make a positive impact during my travels. No one goes into teaching for the money, so couchsurfing meets both my criteria: meaningful and cheap!
I really really like broccoli and eggs and I finally like olives! I am happy and sociable and versatile and excited. I am artistic. I like the crisp, sunny days found in Edinburgh and the never ending sweat of India. I can sometimes be a bit naive, but I will always have an open mind and an open heart!
Everything will be okay in the end, if it's not okay, it's not the end.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm just about to move from the UK to Spain, so, currently, I can't host any surfers. Once I've got myself settled in, I'll definitely open my doors again.
I'm looking for lovely couches to stay on whilst I attend interviews and search for a job in various locations in Spain.
Interests
Language! My degree course in Linguistics has confirmed my belief that the ability to understand and converse in a foreign language is an invaluable and indispensable tool. As such, I'm now a trained EFL teacher and I'm just beginning my search for a job in Spain. I know some French and I've just started learning Spanish! I've got a long way to go though!
As if teaching doesn't keep me busy enough, I'm also a budding seamstress. Little by little I'm improving my skills and one summer I will travel all the festivals with my own stall :)
I am a curious cook and I love discovering new ingredients. I'm also a cheap cook - lentils and beans, lentils and beans!
My poor, poor hula hoop has been ignored for far too long. In the dreary winter of Edinburgh, it has become dusty and depressed. I've promised it some dedicated spinning time soon. I need to improve my confidence though, if I'm ever going to perform.

Music, Movies, and Books
I do enjoy getting lost in a good book, often fantasy novels. Recently I've had trouble finding one that grabs my attention though, so any suggestions are welcome!
My music tastes have changed fairly radically over the last 5 or so years. Having been brought up on a mix of 80s rock, I think I've found my niche for the moment in a mix of dub reggae, ska and psy-related genres. I was introduced to psytrance when I started university and have never looked back since.
And I love to dance, I really really LOVE to dance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A helicopter ride over Victoria Falls, Zambia/Zimbabwe.
My first solo travelling experience in Australia.
Boom Festival 2012 :)
