About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be a culturally educated, environmentally aware, respectful, adventurous and fun loving traveller
ABOUT ME
I’m curious, restless and seek out transformative experiences. I value stillness most, but am constantly caught up by the desire for movement. Travel is one of the few things that provides me with both. I am very attached to making plans, but invariably have trouble following them as I’m prone to bursts of spontaneity and will pursue irrational passions. I’m good with big decisions and awful with all the little ones. I like extreme sensations, or at least the feeling of recovering from them alive. I can be quiet and reserved at times, but have no qualms about speaking my mind when I feel another voice needs to be heard. I’ve dropped more than a few conversational bombs in my time and sometimes I think people expect them of me, but honestly, free and open-minded exchanges are much more my thing.
I'm most at home in nature, but not quite convinced I could shake off all the spoils of city living just yet.
PHILOSOPHY
Do what you will but harm none.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Made a couple of lifelong friends and travelled to other end of the earth three years later to reunite with one of them.
Interests
Music is my first love... late night guitar sessions with friends... noodling on the keyboards home alone in my study... melting into the couch entranced by the vibrations from a pair of headphone speakers... or watching a band on stage in the euphoric company of a thousand of my music loving brethren and sistren.
Music is a big part of the travel experience for me. I love discovering local music scenes, going to festivals and spending hours treasure hunting in record stores for local specialties.
I'm also a bit of a film buff, and I help to host a cult classic movie night once a fortnight.
I'm a water baby and I live in a beach suburb of Sydney where I'm blessed to have some of the world's best beaches right here on my doorstep. I'm an extremely keen SCUBA diver and I do lots of diving here in Sydney. I love fish! I've slowly been making my way around the best dive sites Australia, Asia and the Pacific Islands have to offer. I've also gotten into freediving in the last couple of years and really appreciate the meditative aspects of that sport.
I LOVE food and adventurous eating, from fine dining to street cuisine. I'm not at all ashamed to admit that many of my travels have been largely, if not almost entirely motivated by food.
