About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore. Live. Learn.

ABOUT ME

I'm an English teacher abroad-I live places for 1 year and move on. Thus far I have lived in Paris, France, then Seoul, South Korea, and Istanbul, Turkey. Now I've just moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. It's been interesting and difficult many times, but rewarding many more times, and over-all completely life-changing. I dance. I sing. I am an amateur photographer. I notice things...and then miss a lot more things. I write. I read. I eat. I drink. I work hard. I serve. I try to take Jesus' mission seriously. It's hard. I LOVE traveling. I love other languages. I speak French and English fluently, basic Turkish, and I'm improving my Spanish here in Buenos Aires. I love new places, new people, new cultures. I love hospitality/hosting people. I play guitar and piano. I paint. I'm flexible and easygoing, but honest. I'm excited to be an official couch surfer!

PHILOSOPHY

Jesus called us to serve, and to love. The daily failure at this is our common bond as humans and they only experience we know.

"I know one thing: that I know nothing." -Socrates

"Before me lies the edge of the world. I am on my way there running." -Papago Song

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just want to be a contributing member. I am willing to host, and enjoy meeting other CS hosts when I travel. I love learning about the world and the people living in it-it never ceases to amaze/surprise me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed quite a few times both in the States and in Europe. I've enjoyed every person I've met and it has greatly enhanced my experience in that place. I love the system and the idea!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done recently was spend a couple days in Arches National Park in southern Utah in the US. An evening thunderstorm crept up on us and my sister and I were walking through the red rock desert as the sky quickly turned a more violent purple and lightning periodically threaded from the sky to the red dirt. I love those moments just before a storm-it felt like the entire earth was holding its breath-everything too still, awaiting the coming release. It was a beautiful, powerful, charged few minutes, and I felt like somehow, despite my not being at all worthy and deserving, I was standing in the center of it all.
